Rose -- The end of the world -- The unquiet dead.
Christopher Eccleston, Billie Piper, David Tennant, Camille Coduri, Noel Clarke, John Barrowman.
Doctor Who reinvents itself into a hip new hit for a new generation. Christopher Eccleston's Doctor is wise and funny, cheeky and brave. An alien and a loner, his detached logic gives him a vital edge when the world's in danger.

A good starting point submitted by cherylo on July 22, 2011, 8:31pm For those wishing to start watching Doctor Who, this is one of the starting points I would suggest, as it is the beginning of the series "reboot." (Another would be the start of the Matt Smith/eleventh Doctor era.) Chris Eccleston's leather-jacket wearing Doctor was quite a departure for those of us who were fans before the reboot, and a general breath of fresh air. If you've seen the Matt Smith episodes up to the present, this is a good starting point for getting acquainted with the older material, before delving into the classic series (Doctors 1-7) or the US made-for-TV movie (Eighth Doctor).

Amazing submitted by ljq on July 26, 2011, 6:50pm This really is the most fantastic show ever. The doctor is hilarious and he's so smart. I think that David Tennant is really one of the best doctors.

Great submitted by Chris82 on July 31, 2011, 9:23pm Great restart for the series. It really reinvented the series and made it for the next generation of fans.

Great Place to Start submitted by brady.emmett on August 1, 2011, 12:05pm
When I look back at Season 1 of Doctor Who, I realize that most of my favorite episodes are in other seasons. When I stop to remember my initial reaction though, I wanted to throttle someone for not having strapped me to a chair to watch it earlier. Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper have great chemistry together, and their hijinx are wonderful. You can easily drop into the Whoniverse starting here.

Start at the beginning submitted by mdbowen on June 17, 2012, 2:00pm This is the beginning of the Doctor Who reboot, and a great place to start. While season one may not be the best of the seasons of "new Who" it is still a fun watch. Lots of adventure, some emotional stories, and good chemistry between the main actors.

I don't understand? submitted by brielle on July 10, 2012, 6:32pm I know a lot of people who swear by Doctor Who but... I watched this DVD and don't get it yet. It's entertaining, sure, but also kind of creepy and terrifying. I guess I should have known... I normally go for funny TV shows. It's a decent show, but it isn't a 'laugh all the way through' kind of show. The problem might also be that I started at a bad place? I don't know. Anyway.

I found the Doctor's background intriguing, but there wasn't quite enough revealed to catch me.

We'll see if I watch any more...

Addictive and wonderful submitted by dumusicgirl on June 27, 2013, 12:06pm I fell in love with this show from the very beginning. If you are ready for your next addiction, check this out!
This is a good place to start if you never watched the original. You will be starting with the "9th doctor".

Pretty good submitted by Blackberry Elf-Glitter on July 13, 2013, 5:16pm It's a really addictive show, and it's really exciting, too. There are some kind of boring parts where it gets too sappy to be nice, but the themes of the episodes are really cool, and the different monsters and things are so so cool.

Not that great submitted by Jen Chapin-Smith on July 15, 2013, 9:29pm While I'm generally a great fan of "Doctor Who" this series, and in particular Christopher Eccleston's Doctor and Billie Piper's Rose leave much to be desired. It's worth watching this series if only so you have the background for later series and Doctor incarnations.

Nice submitted by iamnotonfire on December 21, 2013, 1:37pm Such a sweet season :D
