Good Visual Starting Point submitted by Meginator on June 27, 2020, 5:51pm This book is a great place to start when first purchasing a home or when considering a major home improvement project. Many of these projects, such as constructing walls or re-tiling roofs, are way beyond the scope of what the average homeowner would (or should) attempt, but others are surprisingly straightforward. The book is heavy on pictures, which provide useful visual context and offer a lot of information about how houses are constructed and about useful tools to have on hand regardless of your level of DIY ability/inclination. I’d probably consult additional sources for most of these projects due to their scope and importance, but this is still a very useful reference to have on hand.
