Great for kids and adults! submitted by aschling on September 6, 2009, 2:30pm I really enjoyed "Cars". This movie really shows off what can be done with animation today, which is amazing. When you are watching, be sure to pay attention to the shapes of the rocks in the background, there are a few hidden surprises. When it comes to characters and their personalities "Cars" does not fall short. There are a variety of great characters that Lightning McQueen meets, learns from and becomes friends with. This movie is bound to make you laugh!

Cars submitted by neals on June 20, 2011, 12:08pm Cars is all about a race car named lightening McQueen that thinks it's all about winning races. Once his trailer man falls asleep when he was on a highway and doesn't realize McQeen had fell out and McQeen gets lost on the highway. So he gets lost in a small town and startes to learn winning is not what it's all about. When he goes to the finall race a bad car flippes another around right when McQeen is at the finish line and McQeen turned around and brings the broken car to the finish line. This DVD teaches people that winning is not what things are about.

Good, with a sequel coming out submitted by smv on June 28, 2011, 4:09pm Cars is about a rookie race car named Lightning McQueen that falls out of his trailer as his truck, Mack, falls asleep. He goes off the Interstate, and in search of Mack, stumbles across the town of Radiator Springs, long bypassed on Rte. 66. His story of friends and compassion is unforgettable, especially when he is found. With a sequel (Cars 2) coming out, this movie is a good example of what Disney/Pixar can do with animation.

I will admit that when it came out, I was not a fan. It was my least favorite Pixar movie. But upon forced repeated viewing, the movie has grown on me. It's a decent story, even if lifted almost directly from Doc Hollywood.

However, Cars 2 is just plain bad.

I'm looking forward to seeing Cars 3, as it seems to be getting back to what made the first one a decent movie.

Pleasant Surprise submitted by Meginator on August 4, 2017, 5:29pm Cars may not be Pixar's best or deepest film, but it's still fantastic. The cast, especially Paul Newman, is amazing and the animation is slick. As for the story, its main narrative arc is unsurprising but lands with emotional heft, particularly for older viewers who are apt to understand the power of nostalgia. Cars isn't a masterpiece, but it fits well into Pixar's lineup and is a lot of fun.

The movie Cars is great tale of friendship and action that appeals to younger kids! It tells the story of mean race car driver Lightning McQueen as he learns lessons and makes friends in the small town of Radiator Springs.

This movie has great animation + a cute story! A must watch for the whole family! :-)

Nice to not have a princess-oriented animated movie. He pretends to be Lightening McQueen and "race" around the house all day long. There are some characters being a little mean to one another though -- things like "idiot" and "moron" and I think the forbidden s-word of "stupid" is said too. Just something to be aware of if your kid is the parroting phase as well.
