2nd book in the vampire love saga.
"Megan Tingley books"--t.p.
When the Cullens, including her beloved Edward, leave Forks rather than risk revealing that they are vampires, it is almost too much for eighteen-year-old Bella to bear, but she finds solace in her friend Jacob until he is drawn into a "cult" and changes in terrible ways.

a good segue submitted by marenjch on August 11, 2007, 9:51pm some parts of this book where slower than the first and second in the series, but it does some good character development. it's an excellent and necessary segue for Eclipse.

Not as Intense submitted by Slavewoman on October 2, 2007, 9:27am This book was not as heart wrenchingly intense as the first one. Still, you learn a lot more about the characters, and the story develops and teases enough to keep readers waiting for the 3rd book (unlike some series where you start to feel like the author should just give it up and move on). I'm not sure if the author rushed the plot, or if I rushed the book waiting to see what would happen. I plan to go back and read it again more slowly before getting the 3rd.

Sequel submitted by pandangel12 on June 25, 2011, 9:49am A slow book compared to Twilight but none-the-less as interesting..

Not as good as the first book submitted by adimarzo on June 27, 2011, 7:35pm This was my least favorite of the Twilight series. The book is very slow moving and the scenes of Bella moping around got tiresome. The werewolf story line is the most interesting part of this book. This was one instance where the movie turned out better than the book.

disappointment submitted by Lindsie on June 30, 2011, 9:38am i really expected more out of this book but i still recommend people to read this because the books that come after are still REALLY good and you need to read it to understand what happens in the others... so keep reading!!

not that good submitted by janaejwhite on July 1, 2011, 6:49pm New Moon definately was not as good as Twilight, but the series does get better. Even if the book made you want to throw it away, DON'T. KEEP READING.

cool submitted by buttercupsmiley on July 5, 2011, 10:45am Bella is in love with a vampire.

good submitted by joiemma on July 7, 2011, 2:37pm good

Good sequel submitted by ColeenT on July 12, 2011, 3:08pm It's was an okay book. Nothing special about it

Pretty Good submitted by jarroyo on July 14, 2011, 12:45pm This book wasn't as good as "Twilight." There isn't a lot of action. It builds the relationship between Bella and Jacob.

Not Very Good submitted by lola13 on July 16, 2011, 8:04am It could have been better. Bella shouldn't have been so sad, for so long when Edward left.

The drama continues submitted by aschulte on July 18, 2011, 5:28pm i was a little disappointed but i still love the series

New Moon submitted by pubudu on July 19, 2011, 10:34pm I was quite disappointed by this book, because Edward doesn't appear in the book because he leaves and is replaced by Jacob Black.

Cool submitted by Memoria1224 on July 26, 2011, 8:28am This book isn't as good as the first book. Edward leaves Bella and she gets really sad.

slow but good submitted by alumeng.ajl on August 17, 2011, 7:22am this book was slow, but really good. not the best in the series, but i love how they brought out jacob!

heart wrenching submitted by jjdijkstra81 on August 26, 2011, 12:14am Supposed to be for teens, but I'm 30 years old and I ate it right up, along with the other three in this series.

Horrible submitted by glennauerbach on June 17, 2012, 11:48am This is a horrible series, I did not like it at all.

Romantic submitted by unknown on June 18, 2012, 10:34am Why does Edward run away? Doesn't he know how much she

Vampires submitted by mwallagm on July 1, 2012, 4:02pm This book is full of surprises but I didn't like it as much as twilight, the first book of the series.

bad submitted by 04foremanh on July 9, 2012, 6:07pm very boring and soapy

Great submitted by Motomori on June 18, 2013, 11:53am Great book but was kind of boring

sad submitted by hhpatel on July 9, 2013, 11:20am this one is extremely sad

Not the best submitted by unknown on July 8, 2014, 1:58pm The sequel to Twilight is not a very good book compared to twilight.

I... Loved It? submitted by sophie.motawi on July 30, 2017, 2:32pm Okay, to be honest, I really enjoyed this book. I found it much easier to understand Bella and Jacob's relationship rather than Bella and Edward's relationship, and that made the book much better to read than the first. It is my favorite in the series because, although slow moving and hard to read, it contained some very necessary events that made the later books that much better. #Team Jacob though lol.

Familiar ground submitted by ajstemp on June 28, 2018, 12:05pm If you enjoyed Twilight, you'll likely enjoy this book as well; however, it does maintain many of the writing and character development issues as the first book. The new relationships introduced are slightly more compelling, but overall, there are still better YA fiction books (including others with vampire-based storylines).

Great follow up submitted by ogregory on July 12, 2018, 8:24am This book is a great follow up to Twilight. While reading it, you'll gone on an emotional roller coaster. From the highs to the lows every twist and turn leaves you wanting to know what happens next. I really enjoyed this book, and although the plot made me upset and times, it was still amazing.

good book but not as twilight submitted by menmen on August 5, 2018, 7:40pm The book is interesting and it feels really sad in the beginning. However, compared to Twilight, this book is not that good as Twilight.

It isn't very interesting submitted by liqian on June 16, 2019, 8:48pm Sort of boring.

:(( submitted by c_zhang on June 27, 2019, 10:35pm It was alright, I guess.

Good book submitted by jasonc1177 on July 31, 2019, 7:50pm this book is great
!~

Okay... submitted by alicegz on August 14, 2019, 9:25pm a mediocre follow-up to the first book

My favorite submitted by autumnmist on August 15, 2019, 3:36am This was hands down my favorite one

New Moon submitted by EuniceWe on July 21, 2020, 3:33pm Though i was a little disappointed that this was defiantly not as good as the first one, I still found it pretty interesting. It had a little bit of action and Stephanie Meyer defiantly stated Bella's emotions clearly. This time it was more about her fighting herself and her emotions than much of physical pain. This is a good book for anyone who either has gone through that or is going through tough emotions. If this is you, you will defiantly relate to Bella.

Slow, but worth it submitted by 2025MJW on August 4, 2020, 9:03am Can definitely get slow from time to time but i encourage all who have finished twilight to follow through and read new moon as well. You need to read it to understand some references in eclipse and breaking dawn.

New submitted by Ange on July 26, 2021, 5:20pm Moon

Super Good! submitted by The Book Broken Girl on February 16, 2022, 11:54am The emotional rollercoaster that Bella goes on will leave you up at night, turning pages faster than the speed of light, desperate to know what happens between girl, vampire, and werewolf.

Pretty solid submitted by vclinton on August 28, 2023, 8:34am A good description of what teenage girl grief feels like.
