The sacrifice of personal happiness and romantic fulfilment for the greater good of their family's interests, requires that both Nisha and Prem make a painfully difficult choice. Upon the untimely death of her beloved sister, Nisha's brother-in-law is consumed with anxiety about the upbringing of his motherless newborn son. A visiting physician prescribes a quick second marriage, preferably to someone who will nurture the child as her own, and the obvious candidate is Nisha.
