COMMUNITY REVIEWS
Humerous and historic
submitted by Jen Chapin-Smith on August 27, 2012, 12:50pm
Based on the classic novel by the same name, this film portrays a Quaker family in the Midwest who must deal with wordly temptations and the conflict the Civil War rends in their family and community. It is a very humerous film, all the more so if one knows about Friends' history of abstaining from music, racing and violence. The family portrayed were the real ancestors of President Richard Nixon.
I loved this film as a child and wholeheartedly recommend it.
