A comic but poignant portrait of an Italian immigrant working odd jobs in prosperous Switzerland and trying desperately to fit in. Though his work becomes increasingly degrading, he tenaciously refuses to give up and go home. This hapless Everyman is eternally rejected yet ever-hopeful.

Hilarious Comedy with many serious points in it. DOn't miss. submitted by Tassos on December 7, 2021, 2:54pm I saw this movie maybe a year or so after it came out, in a movie theater, and enjoyed it a lot then. I was in college then. I am seeing it again on DVD now, and it has lost none of its power. Don't miss it.
