Cool Book submitted by Ying Zh on June 30, 2011, 4:46pm This book is about a girl named Mitsuki and she wants to be a singer. However that's not possible because of the tumor growing in her throat. Then, one day, with the help of her two new friends, she becomes sixteen! Very, very interesting book! I totally recommended it to people who like adventure, sorrow, and of course, manga books!

An inspiring tale! submitted by backseatgamer on July 27, 2011, 12:32am In truth, I haven't read the manga itself, but I've seen all the anime, so I think I'd be qualified. It's shoujo, meaning it's for girls, which usually means it'd be full of flowers and romance. However, Full Moon wo Sagashite is about a twelve-year-old girl named Mitsuki Kouyama who has sarcoma, a throat cancer, yet desperately wants to sing because of a promise to a boy she met two years earlier. When two Shinigami (death gods) arrive to take her soul and realize she can see them, they end up telling her that she is fated to die in one year's time. In her mind, if she is to die soon anyway, she will at least try to make her dream come true and runs off to an audition on her last-ditch whim. The Shinigami follow her, and decide that she won't win the audition anyway, and that when she loses she will have no regrets when they have to retrieve her soul. However, she can't possibly perform as she is. One of them transforms her into her sixteen-year-old self, perfectly healthy, just for the audition. And so she can try out-and so she wins! I won't say any more for fear of spoilers. But even after the saddest time Kouyama Mitsuki comes back like the moon and does her best for all those she cares about.
