Strange interlude submitted by deets on July 12, 2011, 5:16pm This is the second book in the trilogy, encompassing the time from Bingley's hasty removal from Hertfordshire to christmastime at Pemberly. Austen's novel doesn't talk about what Darcy did during this time, and Pamela Aidan runs away with it. A strange and unlikely tale unfolds, rather Northhanger Abbey-ish, but not nearly as Austen in it's telling. Of the three, this is the weakest work in my opinion, but you can't very well skip the whole middle, so I read it every time anyhow. Not the highest praise, I realize.
