Helpful in identifying native trees in Michigan submitted by teri on July 10, 2019, 10:33pm My favorite field guide to native trees of Michigan is Barnes and Wagner's "Michigan Trees", but Sally Weeks' guide extends the range to Indiana and Ohio. Unlike the black and white drawings in Barnes and Wagner -each species in Weeks' book is accompanied by colored photographs of key characteristics - including leaf shape, bud, fruit, flower, and bark. Very helpful in trying to identify trees native to Michigan!
