Minnesotan "All Creatures Great & Small" submitted by sdunav on July 15, 2011, 8:36am I loved this collection of short chapters (which hold up well as independent essays, which is particularly nice if your reading is disjointed) about a bookish woman in her 30's who follows her long-term lover who dreams of farming to a run-down place in southern MN, where they raise sheep, chickens, and plant grapes for wine.

The author goes through a middle-aged crisis over their "menage a trois" - herself, her lover/lesbian partner, and the farm. It reminded me (favorably!) of "All Creatures Great and Small", except of course the characters are mostly female, and it's set in the US in the 1990's instead of the UK in the 30's.
