Conflicted submitted by John Staunton on August 1, 2018, 9:20pm Good writing. And I remember enjoying this when I read it in school growing up in the south. It's definitely a favorite for schools and school teachers, but there are probably better ways (and books) to get at enduring issues of racial injustice and/or historical racism in 1930s south. Works better as a start than an end to those conversations.

Classic submitted by jw on August 11, 2018, 3:25pm I remember reading this at school, teachers love it

Great submitted by lpy on August 30, 2018, 4:13pm Great book! I really recommend reading it.

Good timeless Classic submitted by dmacorkindale on June 18, 2019, 2:51pm I read this book in school and I wasn't the biggest fan but a can respect all of the modern day messages that this book still harbors. Even though I didn't like it all that much I still encourage people to read it because I feel it is a cultural icon the all people need to experience and form an opinion on the tough subjects like racism and sexism presented here.

sidebar: Is this book set far enough back to be historical fiction or not?

Interesting submitted by RowPio on June 24, 2019, 5:19pm It was an excellent book and made me think of the amount of justice that we can actually have using our laws and how prejudice always affects our actions. It was a little bit slow but the scene in the court room made it absolutely worth it.

Classic submitted by c_zhang on June 28, 2019, 1:17am It was an interesting read, and I like how relevant it still is today.

Classic submitted by jcnnifer on August 15, 2019, 10:18pm Incredibly eye-opening about prejudice and racism. Still relevant today...
