Sweet and Charming submitted by cherylo on July 15, 2011, 6:52am A gentle coming-of-age story. I was charmed by the details and minutia of everyday life as much as by The Baron.

Great! submitted by ashflowtuff on August 14, 2011, 5:53pm Great movie - highly recommended!

Whisper of the Heart submitted by marisal on August 15, 2011, 10:28am Not one of my absolute favorites but it was great all the same.

Amazing!!!! submitted by gxl on July 14, 2012, 8:49pm This is my favorite Miyazaki movie! It tells a story about friendship and love. I definitely recommend it!!!! It is a great movie to watch with family and friends!!!! ^3^

Overlooked Gem submitted by mrajraspn08 on August 26, 2013, 1:57pm When you think Miyazaki, this probably isn't the first thing that comes to mind--you probably don't even know about this one. Remedy this immediately. A bit of a departure from his usual fair, but incredibly sweet and charming. The story is unique, the feelings real--a definite winner.

My favorite Miyazaki! submitted by ginarae3 on August 13, 2014, 2:04pm Whisper of the Heart made me cry more than once. It touched my soul, the music was beautiful, the animation is delightful, and the magic of the story is just perfect. A true masterpiece.

different submitted by kbahleda on July 3, 2018, 6:33pm This was one different Miyazaki movie. Such a touching story of finding yourself and living your dreams

Great submitted by anacoluthon on July 27, 2018, 2:57pm One of my favorite Studio Ghibli movies. And it always gets "Country Road" stuck in my head.

Great story submitted by Duckling on August 4, 2018, 11:10am Great story about learning who you are and that loving someone doesn't mean you can't become who you want to be. And how not knowing what you want to be isn't the end of the world. I recommend to all.

Less Fantasy But Still Beautiful submitted by dntanzer on August 31, 2018, 4:45pm This is a more "realistic" Studio Ghibli movie. It's beautiful and moving. The animation and art, as always, are gorgeous. And the soundtrack is beautiful too.

Great art submitted by IsaGab2 on June 18, 2022, 2:55pm The art, naturally, is amazing, and that’s what really carries the film. The plot itself isn’t bad, but it’s not super fleshed out and it was a bit slow at the start. Too much Country Roads.

Watched at AADL submitted by tsartsar on June 18, 2022, 2:57pm Very charming art, as Ghibli movies often have, so there was always something to look at even if not much was going on plot-wise most of the time.

10/10 art
4.5/10 love triangle
5/10 story, has a lot of recognizable tropes
10/10 Baron cat

Whisper of the Heart submitted by hrgray on July 9, 2023, 10:29pm This movie has less in terms of action than other Ghibli films, but it makes up for it with a charming story, excellent art, and lots of character development. It's grown on me a lot over time.

Wonderful submitted by lilili on July 11, 2023, 10:08am Wonderful, "heart"-felt story
