great family summer adventure submitted by manz on July 29, 2013, 12:20pm The Sandlot is a great family movie featuring summer adventure. The boys make new friends and tackle The Beast in the summer of 1962. It's really funny.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the film! Wow, does time fly.

Synopsis:
"Scotty Smalls moves to a new neighborhood with his mom and stepdad, and wants to learn to play baseball. The neighborhood baseball guru Rodriquez takes Smalls under his wing, and soon he's part of the local baseball buddies. They fall into adventures involving baseball, treehouse sleep-ins, the desirous lifeguard at the local pool, the snooty rival ball team, and the travelling fair. Beyond the fence at the back of the sandlot menaces a legendary ball-eating dog called The Beast, and the kids inevitably must deal with him."

Finally submitted by jayzwack on July 30, 2019, 7:06pm I was a bit too old to watch this as a kid, but I am glad I finally got to see it with my kids. It was perfect for age 10, and really took me back to what it was like when I was growing up in the 80's.
