Recommended submitted by Susan4Pax -prev. sueij- on July 2, 2015, 10:27am Very informative, quite well written, and will tell you everything you ever wanted to know (and a lot you never thought to ask) about the physical and political history of southern Florida and the Everglades. If you live in Florida (especially), or even visit there, or simply want to know more about this country we live in, I recommend it.

It reminded me of _The Living Great Lakes: Searching for the Heart of the Inland Seas_, by Jerry Dennis, although I think that the Great Lakes book was a little more readable, perhaps because it combined not only history but also a current journey boating the lakes.
