Well done submitted by hcf on July 25, 2014, 2:19pm Wonderful movie

Millions submitted by leighsprauer on March 10, 2024, 7:32am Millions is a quirky film about a devoutly religious little boy who is comes into the possession of a small fortune. He immediately tells his older brother, but not their father, and the two of them spend several days spending it and giving it away before other people catch on. The younger brother, Damian, is visited by some of his favorite saints, who encourage him to give the money away; the older brother, Anthony, has more common desires: luxury, power, and security.
With the exception of St. Peter undermining the miracle of the loaves and fishes (which, admittedly, was border-line unforgivable), the portrayal of the saints was very good. They are more or less what you would hope for in a saint: loving, but human (except perfect, of course). Damian's devotion was charming and inspiring..
There were a couple of odd parts, including the final dramatic scene after the money had been discovered, which were hard to follow, and the thief's character should have had some sort of resolution, but overall it was a lovely movie.
