Awsome! submitted by emily schaub on July 26, 2007, 10:13am This book was so awsome i could'nt put it down!!! I also can't wait to read
pretty's the specials!!! If you hav'nt read this already and like mystery science fiction YOU NEED TO!!

Fabulous read!!! submitted by tallyssinae R on July 2, 2008, 12:46am THis book kept my attention through the whole of it and even though I had the last two of the series it belongs too I made myself wait till the Speials was in on my hold request to read them in order and am I ever thankfull I did!!! This series is very catching in its many varied plots and twists, you can't predict what will happen and or how the book/s will end, it's a very good read!! Highly recommended!!!

Enjoyable and interesting premise submitted by marielle on June 26, 2011, 11:24am This is the first and best of this 4 book series about a dystopian future where everyone becomes "pretty" when they come of age. This book is definitely worth reading, but not as good as some contemporary teen dystopian fiction, like The Hunger Games.

U NEED TO READ THIS!!!! submitted by Veroni2 on June 27, 2011, 6:01pm this is hands down the best series u will ever read in your life. i think i will have to scream if u read this review and then dont read the book. there is not a page in this book where u will know what happens next. never a slow moment or one of those "is this book worth my time" moments. the best series on the face of this earth. ok im done but i hope i convinced you to read this book.

Scott Westerfeld is my favorite author. submitted by miss pyro on June 29, 2011, 1:21pm I don't think I've read anything of his and didn't like it. He writes amazing books with characters that really hold onto you. I loved it when he actually CAME TO THE LIBRARY and talked. He's hilarious.

Westerfeld the awesome III submitted by OKH34 on July 7, 2011, 11:21am As usual, with a good book, I pocked it up in the morning, and spend the entire day without moving an inch, reading it. I was up until 3ish in the morning, at which point I was physically unable to stay awake, and just kind of fell over. I have liked every book I have read by Scott westerfeld, and this series is one of te better ones (my favourite is really leviathan and behemoth). Unfortunately my brother is one to judge books by their covers and continually taunted me about reading "girl books", which was ridiculous (he has absolutely no taste, even when he isn't judging by cover) and his constant blathering made it rather hard to read. These books are awesome, Scott westerfeld is awesome, and anyone who hasn't has to read these books.

Awesome! submitted by LuckyDuck on July 12, 2011, 2:39pm Best Book Ever!

Awesome submitted by ColeenT on July 12, 2011, 3:00pm Amazing

Great! submitted by Smileyfrowns on August 1, 2011, 10:57am A great book! Super interesting concept of a dystopian future.

Best Book Ever!!! submitted by janaejwhite on August 12, 2011, 10:17am This book was extremely good and it had me hooked when I read the first page. If you like this book, you should read "Pretties" , "Specials" , and "Extras". They're all super good, so READ THEM!!! SERIOUSLY!!!

wow just wow submitted by xjasx on June 16, 2012, 11:50pm Great book, I read it during states and lemme tell you, I could hardly put it down, the thrill was great, I felt like I was the one witnessing it firsthand

Really Good! submitted by alumeng.ajl on June 17, 2012, 8:09am This book was really good. Like so many other series, the books got progressively worse. But this book was great.

Amazing submitted by marisal on June 17, 2012, 3:48pm This book is great. It was really easy to read, in fact I found that I couldn't put it down! I recommend this book to everyone. You also have to read the others, Pretties, Specials and Extras!

Pretty good submitted by ashflowtuff on June 29, 2012, 9:53am I liked the premise of this book, but I thought it was just OK. The writing was mediocre. The series goes downhill from here.

Okay submitted by jangmikyoung on August 31, 2012, 12:36pm I really thought it was a really good book in the beginning, and I couldn't put it down. But after a while, it started to just make me sleepy.

Pretty nice submitted by michael007 on July 1, 2013, 4:25pm Pretty nice book!

TRY IT submitted by zidrissu on August 20, 2013, 2:56pm This book puts a total spin on beauty ideals, cosmetic surgery, good vs evil and all things unexpected. And it seriously makes you wonder about these peoples' brains and self-esteem! Read it, it's awesome!

Just ok submitted by jngrl7 on August 29, 2013, 11:44am I thought it was a fun read, but there's nothing that sets it apart from all the other dystopian teen fiction out there. But like all of them, they are fun and interesting to read.

Not as good as I exoected submitted by camelsamba on July 4, 2015, 7:18pm I enjoyed the story, but there were times when I felt like the world was somewhat inconsistent. Likewise, Tally seems unrealistic at times. I guess I expected more because Westerfeld is so highly regarded (as is this series, I think?).

OK submitted by MetaMara on June 22, 2016, 1:52pm This book was OK, but not as good as some others in the genre.

Good Book submitted by Juno Ryan on July 1, 2017, 6:48pm This book was a pretty good dystopian novel. I will read the sequel but the book was not as good as some other teen sci-fi I've read, such as the Hunger Games and Divergent series.
four stars.

Okay submitted by hahahame on July 24, 2017, 8:02pm An enjoyable dystopian book

Good submitted by sophia_2005 on July 20, 2018, 2:38pm It's a very good dystopion sci-fi novel.

Uglies submitted by c_zhang on June 27, 2019, 10:38pm It's not the best YA dystopian novel there is, but it was alright.

Not good submitted by zora on July 14, 2019, 3:12pm This book is way overhyped. The entire book was filled with terrible writing and a predictable plot. I don’t see androhung that is appealing about this book. From the cover to the plot this book was a major disappointment.

Good book submitted by jasonc1177 on July 31, 2019, 7:52pm this book is great
……&*……&*

Decent submitted by sydcha on August 3, 2019, 10:13am While the premise is great and the writing high quality, the pace of this book is a little weird. You feel as if you're at the end pretty close to the start, and it doesn't move into the next books very well. I still would recommend it for readers just looking for entertainment.

a great book! submitted by v_library on July 27, 2020, 1:35am this was such a good book about the future and how we think the future citizens of america are going to do things. love the thrill of the risk of being caught and breaking the rules. highly recommended!

Decent submitted by swapna_reddy on July 29, 2020, 11:33am The book is a good topic but I feel the pace of the book isn't good. It doesn't have good starting and endings. However, I think people should still read it for entertainment.

Typical dystopian submitted by shailu on June 14, 2022, 9:47am This book doesn't address its controversial subject as well as it should, and the women hating women because of a boy trope becomes a large part of the second half. Wouldn't recommend.

Intersting submitted by maggotnico on August 9, 2022, 9:07am Unique idea. Got me hooked on the series
