Gem of a movie submitted by teri on July 8, 2018, 9:33pm Often, a movie doesn't do justice to a really good book. Not in this case! I read Russo's book, and thought I'd give this star-studded movie a chance. It sure didn't disappoint. The movie was true to the spirit of the book, and the acting was spot on. Newman was great as Max Roby - but then, all the actors did a superb job. Everything about life in a small town is here. Read the book first, then watch this movie!
