Wonderful! Highly Recommended! submitted by haanhl on July 30, 2011, 7:34pm This was a really lovely story. I highly recommend it! It is told from the point of view of a cat, who seeks to find a home in a barn after being abandoned by his owner's parents. The books tells two parallel stories, one about Richard Whittington, and the other is about Ben's ability to read. Ben is a boy just like the boy who once owned the cat, a boy that struggles with reading. The cat, meanwhile, does not want to see Ben shipped off like his previous owner and tries hard to encourage Ben, along with the other animals in the barn. One of the things the cat does is to try and inspire Ben with his story. You see, the cat is also named Whittington, after Richard Whittington. So Whittington, the cat, is trying to inspire Ben with the story of Whittington, the man. It is beautifully written, and highly recommended.
