The Chocolate War submitted by SBNB on June 24, 2022, 8:04pm I read the book this afternoon. I don't regret reading it. But I'm not glad I read it either. I often prefer fiction that allows me to escape from reality into another life. This book screams reality in your face at every turn, like a flashing neon sign in the dead of night advertising that the world sucks. Sociopaths and bullies and no hope. Don't get me wrong, it is excellently written and is an excellent story. But so harsh and cruel.

A timeless classic submitted by mickplu on June 24, 2023, 6:53am This is a timeless classic, which still holds true for today’s kids. The main character deals as being the new kid while also undergoing huge peer pressure. The ending is unexpected and riveting.
