Based on a true story. This is how the biggest television event in history was almost not televised. Apollo 11 goes to the moon and the first step is to be televised around the globe. But right before the landing, the dish flatlines. Its up to the unconventional Aussie crew and the by-the-book NASA supervisor to work together to fix the dish before the landing occurs.

A truly enjoyable gem of a film submitted by irenzero on June 18, 2011, 6:29pm The Dish is one of those films that is at once funny, family friendly and honest. It's the perfect film for a holiday weekend when you need something that the whole family can watch and enjoy over and over. If you like it, also check out The Castle from the same creative team.

A surprise find if you are interested in the Apollo program submitted by andrewa on July 31, 2015, 10:39pm I didn't think I'd be interested in the mechanics behind how the TV signal got to millions watching on Earth but this was a surprisingly interesting story. If you are a space buff like me, give this one a try.

An utter DELIGHT! submitted by eileenw on July 13, 2022, 5:50pm While it seems like a dull-ish piece (how the footage got on our TVs) of a story well all know (first humans walk on the moon), this movie is loaded with quirky lovable characters and chipper humor. It's a delight to watch. The music is great. The whole thing is family friendly without being childish.
