Narrated by Johanna Parker.
Because her mind-reading ability tends to spook people, most of Sookie's friends are of the not-exactly-human variety. And now that her brother is about to transform into a were-panther for the first time, the supernatural world is suddenly a family affair. When Sookie realizes a deadly sniper is gunning down the local changelings, her feelings turn to full-blown terror. She needs to stop the assassin before the next full moon--if he doesn't get to her first.

COMMUNITY REVIEWS

More Sookie submitted by Jen Chapin-Smith on August 15, 2013, 6:01pm Those who love the "True Blood" TV series will enjoy Charlaine Harris' Southern vampire mystery series on which the show is based. The show is particularly faithful to the plot of the first few books in the series, but begins to veer a bit from this novel (the fifth book). The plot about Tara and a vampire is the mostly in the same in the book and show. Jason has a connection with the werepanthers, but in the book he is only half-were.
The novel focus a great deal on hate crimes against weres and shifters, with the Fellowship of the Sun as the instigator of most of the hate (an allegory to real-life anti-gay churches). Besides being very violent, this book also has a very disturbing scene in the wolf pack's leader competition.
SPOILER ALERT: In this book, Sookie agrees to tell Eric about the days he forgot when he had amnesia (at that time he didn't remember who he really was, but then when he regained his usual memories and personality forgot what happened during the days of amnesia) in exchange for his arranging for Tara's release. Sookie tells him about their passionate affair. This eventually leads to their longer-term relationship, a low-point in the series, in my opinion, give how selfish Eric is. He never acts in anyone's interest except his own throughout the series, even when he dating Sookie.

More Weres submitted by majean on August 16, 2018, 4:38pm Introduced to more weres; it is Quinn's first appearance.
