peas to ponder submitted by camelsamba on August 13, 2011, 6:24pm Are peas so sweet tasting to us because they eat so much candy? Hmmm, something to ponder...

funny! submitted by fairytale on July 24, 2012, 9:13pm This book is hilarious!!

Eat Your Candy! submitted by Sara W on August 29, 2015, 9:06pm Little Pea doesn't want to eat his dinner - he hates candy! But he has to eat it all in order to get his delicious spinach for dessert! This adorable upside-down world of food dislikes is very silly and very cute. Little Pea is a joyous little fella, so much so that you can almost sympathize that he has to eat candy for dinner. This book brings the silliness in just the right measure, and is sure to be a favorite.

Eat Your Candy, Kiddos submitted by Meginator on August 31, 2019, 9:03pm This funny little book hinges on an ironic twist that will absolutely delight most readers, even if it doesn't quite trick them into eating vegetables. The illustrations are simple, but they are charming and work really well with the simple, straightforward plot, although my young reading companion wondered how the peas could play on the swings and do other in-story activities without arms. I couldn't really come up with anything to explain this, but in the end we just kind of rolled with it. Altogether this book is a pretty breezy read that will introduce young readers to delicious irony.
