Good submitted by sandylib123 on July 17, 2011, 7:06pm good movie
great movie submitted by jszchen on August 22, 2011, 9:23pm It was a classic when it came out. I have always been a fan of fighter jets.
I feel the need. The need for speed. submitted by tbbrown76 on August 2, 2014, 9:37pm This is one of TC's best movies ever. And, he's done a lot. I have to give it my highest recommendation.
Cult classic submitted by ishhewitt on July 10, 2016, 3:01pm I didn't think it was great.
Classic 80s submitted by majean on August 17, 2018, 8:34pm For some reason, my brother and I were obsessed with this movie for a while growing up. Watched it as an adult. It's ok.
The need for speed submitted by purchasingqueen on August 31, 2018, 11:59pm Tom Cruise and Anthony Edwards are good, along with Val Kilmer, as pilots at the Top Gun academy. Kelly McGillis'part was not real believable as the instructor who gets involved with her youngrr student.
Awesome submitted by karenarini on August 9, 2019, 9:13pm Fav movie when I was in HS
Oh Boy submitted by wendylv on August 12, 2019, 9:30am This movie does not age well. There's fun, snappy dialogue (mostly from Goose) but most of the lines are truly cringeworthy. And the plot is straight out of the Predictable Plot Machine. It's a great advertisement for the Navy with all the cool fighter jet scenes but the cheese factor is off the charts.
Top gun submitted by lstorc on August 30, 2019, 1:04am Top gun was misogynistic and obnoxious when it was released. it's abhorrent now.
Great submitted by TLW1998 on June 25, 2022, 11:08pm Great Tom Cruise movie
Pretty Okay Film submitted by timbresson on July 8, 2023, 8:32am The odd romance arc aside, sometimes it’s just fun for the music and the action. In fact, all the memorable scenes had great backtracking.
Classic submitted by DL on July 16, 2023, 12:54pm Top Gun has some great actors add in a great story with romance and action, whew makes one great classic movie.
Don’t take it too seriously, a fun ride submitted by bahr on July 31, 2023, 1:24am The movie is fun and probably has some truth to it… but it doesn’t really matter how much. The action is exciting and it’s a good set-up for the sequel which is also decent.
Classic submitted by snabbleon on August 9, 2023, 4:29pm Classic hero movie. Gotta love it with all the required characters doing all the right things. Grab a bucket of popcorn and settle in to watch the adventure.
Just Rewatched submitted by APluss on August 14, 2023, 2:00pm Went to Thunder Over Michigan and then rewatched this. It's as awesome as I remember but there are definitely some odd plot-holes. Why does Maverick have Goose's dog-tags? Why does Maverick get to teach after one successful mission... wouldn't the Navy want him in the field longer since he's had such great training?
