African-Inspired Jazz submitted by Meginator on July 11, 2019, 11:24pm Musically, this album incorporates African musical traditions into saxophone-based jazz, and I haven't heard anything quite like it before. The base rhythms seem to draw from African cultures, with free-spirited solo improvisations layered on top. I found some of these solos to be a little disjointed and difficult to follow (I generally prefer more structure), but the combination of styles worked very well overall.
