COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Essential for Percussionists submitted by Meginator on June 12, 2021, 9:36am Max Roach is absolutely unbelievable; his solos have such a great sense of rhythm and even melody to them, the latter being a rare and precious quality for a drummer. The bass sits in the background as the trumpet at drums shine, and the tracks offer a good mix of mellow and upbeat settings. As a drummer myself, I concentrated more on Roach’s style than on Brown’s, but the artists work incredibly well together and play off of each other’s style nicely. This is an essential album for anyone who loves, or plays, percussion.
