The time machine -- A rude awakening -- A woman's place -- The end of an era.
Just how good were the good old days? Travel back in time with the Bowler family, smitten by the idea of experiencing the Victorian lifestyle right down to corsets, chamber pots and cutthroat razors, as they turn back the calendar to spring of 1900. Their eye-opening experiences of the grueling demands of a bygone era help them to understand another era with an exceptional clarity and a unique perspective.
DVD; Dolby surround stereo.
COMMUNITY REVIEWS
Excellent historical reenactment submitted by doutsasl on July 13, 2014, 3:17pm For those who dream of time travel, 1900 House gives one lucky family the chance to experience life as it was lived in the Victorian era. The first episode is a fascinating look at all the work that went into selecting and furnishing the home so that it would be both historically accurate, functional, and safe for the modern Bowler family. The subsequent episodes chronicle the challenges, frustrations, and joys of the Bowlers as they adapt to Victorian life. Overall, an extremely interesting experiment in historical reenactment, and well worth watching. Fans of 1900 House should also check out Manor House, a historical reenactment set in an Edwardian country manor home, full of upstairs downstairs drama.
