Those who love the "True Blood" TV series will enjoy Charlaine Harris' Southern vampire mystery series on which the show is based. The show is particularly faithful to the plot of the first few books in the series, but begins to veer a bit from this novel (the fifth book). The plot about Tara and a vampire is the mostly in the same in the book and show. Jason has a connection with the werepanthers, but in the book he is only half-were.
The novel focus a great deal on hate crimes against weres and shifters, with the Fellowship of the Sun as the instigator of most of the hate (an allegory to real-life anti-gay churches). Besides being very violent, this book also has a very disturbing scene in the wolf pack's leader competition.
The Weres Thicken submitted by majean on August 16, 2018, 4:37pm Lots of weres happening in this one. Quinn's first appearance.
