Read by Juliette Parker.
Gordon McKenna is just out of college when his beloved sister and her husband are killed in a car accident, leaving behind a baby daughter, Keefer. Gordon and his parents, having helped raise Keefer nearly every day of her life, assume that they will now bring up Keefer as their own. But they are shocked when the paternal grandparents launch a campaign to gain custody of the young girl, raising issues so provocative that they drive the McKennas to despair and then outrage. The legal tug-of-war ultimately becomes a crucible in which the capacity and limitations of family love are repeatedly tested and the frontiers of the human heart pushed to unimagined limits.
