Even the Queen submitted by Jen Chapin-Smith on August 19, 2013, 9:59am Connie Willis' "Even the Queen" takes a sometimes humorous, sometimes upsetting look at how our society treats women's menstruation through the lens of how a future society would. In the future women are not supposed to menstruate, so when a young woman tells her family she is joining a cult that encourages women to have their period her mother and grandmother are shocked.
