All Dressed Up submitted by yaldah on August 6, 2013, 9:36am So, first of all, let me just say something. You know "storylaura? The librarian and storyteller at the downtown library? Well, this is *the same* Laura!
Anyway, when my mom got this from the library, I thought, "Oh, whatever. My younger siblings will enjoy this," thinking it would be a recording of the kinds of stories she tells at storytimes, which, while they are fine stories, are aimed at younger kids then me. But was I wrong! These are stories from her childhood, or about her relations, and I really enjoyed listening to them. My younger siblings also love them - my youngest sister wants to listen to the CD pretty much every day - but the stories are not only for little kids. They are entirely different then the stories she tells at storytimes, but they are just as good for younger children, and much better for older people - kids *and* adults!
So the point of this review is to just tell you that you HAVE to check this out, as well as Laura's other, similar CD the library has, "A Well Kept Secret".
By the way, apart from having enjoyed Laura's stories on this recording, I also learned some things about her. Would you believe that I never actually knew "storylaura" was Jewish till I listened to her recordings? And that's just one thing I learned about her. Well, enjoy!
