Best Book of the Series submitted by kelseyz on June 19, 2007, 8:15pm In the already spellbinding Harry Potter series, this one outshines the rest. Can't wait for Deathly Hallows!

Can't Describe submitted by soccerforlife on April 20, 2010, 3:18pm Ummm... what should I say? I'm really happy with the book, and I look forward to the last one in the series. P.S. I hope J.K. Rowling creates a series about Harry and Ron's children!!!

Awesome submitted by mysterio on June 18, 2011, 11:46am This is the best series ever and this is one of the best books ever.

Great book submitted by chloeandrews on June 19, 2011, 4:03pm Great book that has everyone wanted to read to final one.

love submitted by alicegz on June 24, 2011, 2:08pm This page should have a trailer on it like how The Sorcerer's Stone does! This book is just so captivating; every time I read it it transports me to another world. A world with adventures and love-I guess that's why so many people adore this series!

Sad submitted by pandangel12 on June 25, 2011, 9:41am Its sad that Dumbledore died but I'm glad that HP got to stand up for himself

* submitted by marisal on June 26, 2011, 11:41am Another thrilling book!

Harry Potter submitted by jayendra44106 on June 30, 2011, 6:54pm This book wasn't the best. It was good but was waaay too long. And confusing. But it was still good, and J.K. Rowling is still a genius.

Terrific submitted by 0liviap0pp on July 4, 2011, 9:02am This is probably my second favorite book in the series, after the last one.

smile submitted by mwallagm on July 9, 2011, 4:42pm This is my favorite Harry Potter book!!!
I like how Harry is better at controling his temper, even though he is obbsessed with Malfoy.
It's ironic how all of his suspisions turn out right in the end.
And Harry & Ron both defend the Half-blood Prince when he is really....well, just read the book!

Great submitted by drewy234432 on July 10, 2011, 9:44pm I think this was my favorite Harry potter book. I think this because it has TONS of action and only 1 good guy dieds unlike the last one. The last one does have TONS of action but the don't go to hogwarts and 100s of goo people die!

Good submitted by ColeenT on July 12, 2011, 2:29pm loved it

Okay submitted by Zhengyang1022 on July 14, 2011, 1:38pm I guess it was good, but wasn't the best. In this book, Harry Potter learns about Horucruxes and Lord Voldemort and learns more magic.

my favorate books of all time submitted by ferdoble on August 2, 2011, 5:52pm Like approximately 100 million other people, this is my favorite book series of all times. My favorite will forever be the first book. I read the first 4 or 5 chapters of that book all the time, I just love the way he finds out.

If you haven’t read them because of the genre that they have been put into, please worry about that no longer, these books transcend genre, they are just that good.

One tip that you may not get elsewhere is that I recommend listening to the UK audio recording, Jim Dale is good, but Stephen Fry is better

This series is great! submitted by jkl on August 10, 2011, 9:19pm ^^^All that needs to be said^^^

Harry Potter submitted by shihdeanna on August 13, 2011, 10:57pm The Harry Potter series pulls you out of your world in a whirling world of which a boy who lived under the stairs discovered magic on his eleventh birthday. This book is a fascinating story of a seven-book series centered around Harry Potter, the boy who lived, whom lives in a world of daring adventures to defeat his nemesis, lord voldemort, along with his friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger.

great movie submitted by jszchen on August 18, 2011, 9:11pm I love all the harry potter films

Really Good submitted by Smiles on June 16, 2012, 10:15am I really liked this book because Harry does some pretty bad things and I really wanted to know who the Half-Blood Prince was.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince submitted by leehannah on June 16, 2012, 9:38pm There were definitely some places where my heart skipped a beat in this book and I was almost in tears by the end. It was a very emotional/sad book. I would still recommend reading it because it was very interesting and there was a lot of things going on, one right after another.

scary submitted by charlottebatra on June 18, 2012, 11:06am scary

my fave submitted by 04foremanh on July 9, 2012, 6:01pm this is one of my all time faves second from the last book.

Great!!! submitted by Motomori on July 13, 2012, 4:06pm Great book! But towards the end it was really sad! I almost felt like I was there witnessing all the deaths that were going on. If J.K. Rowling can make the reader fill like that, then we know that she is an awesome writer!

Great! submitted by alumeng.ajl on July 14, 2012, 8:07am This is a really good installment to an awesome series.

Epic Details submitted by sherm on July 14, 2012, 5:40pm J.K. Rowling is the best author EVER. The Half Blood Prince has AWESOME details

Great submitted by Memoria1224 on July 22, 2012, 2:50pm This book is amazing! I was really sad when Dumbledore died.

great submitted by Lizzy on August 9, 2013, 4:50pm this book was great! it is a book you can't put down

WOOHOO! submitted by Flying Sheep on August 14, 2013, 1:00pm Awesome book.

Ok... submitted by Akkitaset on March 30, 2014, 6:35pm This book was alright. Maybe it was because I read Lord of the Rings before reading this book, but it seemed less good than the other books and not what I remembered at all.
It's prob just me. and how I think that J.K.Rowling is trying to be a Tolkien and failing by a long shot. If you thing that Rowling is the best writer in the world, you need to read some Tolkien, and then you can see what real writing is. Just please have a heart. Dumbledore is nothing compared to Gandalf. Just know that.
P.S. I love these books, I'm just saying that they're not the best, and you should also read things that will teach you something other than the random claims of Harry against Draco, which annoyed everyone.

HP6 submitted by SBNB on June 24, 2014, 1:45pm Sad ending, but it was very interesting finding out more about Voldemort.

Review from a "would I let my kid read it" perspective submitted by Susan4Pax -prev. sueij- on July 11, 2014, 9:09am ** spoiler alert ** Again... for reading to kids:

Of course, this one has the unthinkable: Dumbledore dies at Snape's hand. Maybe when the kids are 20.

(Note: we let our mature 10 year old read it. :-) He did fine. But he was bored to tears with the start of book 7 and never finished that one.)

Great submitted by bluepapaya on July 26, 2014, 1:47pm This is my favorite book in the series, it's amazing.

SOOOOOOO GOOD submitted by c_.115 on July 29, 2014, 6:44pm This series is amazing!!!!!!!!!!=)

Awesome submitted by kelleyc on July 26, 2016, 9:02am One of the best series ever

it was time submitted by Judeyblu on July 26, 2016, 10:06pm whenever a series starts to feel too safe there's a major character shake-up.
This that book.

Good submitted by hahahame on July 24, 2017, 6:31pm Not my favorite HP book, but still good.

Another Harry Potter Hit submitted by Meginator on August 2, 2017, 3:48pm The Harry Potter series dipped a bit with Order of the Phoenix, in my opinion, but Rowling comes back in full force in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, one of the best books in the series. Yet again, the stakes rise palpably throughout the book (culminating in THAT death/twist at the end, which leads readers directly to Deathly Hallows) and the plot develops around concepts introduced in earlier novels. It's clear that Rowling mapped out a good deal of her wizarding world prior to writing the novels, and her hard work and vision pay off as the series hurtles toward its conclusion. The three main characters really come into their own in this book and make some tough decisions about the future, and the stage is set for everything to come to a head in the final book. This is a penultimate book that stands on its own as an excellent journey, more than a way-point or a distraction, and it embodies all that is amazing about the Harry Potter series.

SO GOOD submitted by KOH on August 30, 2017, 9:07pm This is one of the best in the series!

nice one submitted by King145 on August 31, 2017, 11:34am I've read this many times and never gets bored.....u cannot leave this half way

Y e s submitted by charbutcool on June 19, 2018, 12:46am Just as all the other books in the HP series, this one is amazing as well!

Great submitted by anacoluthon on August 19, 2018, 5:38pm Things continue to get worse as Voldemort grows in power. A great addition to the series.

Amazing submitted by Bigal2212 on August 22, 2018, 1:30pm So many twists and turns in the series!

Here It Is submitted by elizabeth mayhew on August 23, 2018, 12:53am The drama, the mystery, the spooky title cover... A great read with scenes that'll stick with you years later.

Great addition to the series! submitted by Xris on August 26, 2018, 12:45am We learn a lot about Snape in this one. We learn a lot about Harry's parents and friends from this book, and what they were like back when they went to Hogwarts too.

Okay submitted by Claireywang on August 29, 2018, 7:48pm We learn more about Snape's earlier life, as well as his relationship with Harry's parents. Overall, not bad. A far cry from being a favorite, but, not too bad either.

Drama and exciting submitted by SadieRose on June 14, 2019, 11:58am one of the greatest books ever

Becomes Better With Age submitted by AccountJD on June 15, 2019, 5:30pm When this book first came out, I wasn't thrilled with it. But over time, I've come to love it.

amazing submitted by MasterZo on June 16, 2019, 1:18pm my dad loves this book the most

Nice addition to the series! submitted by wookeny on July 2, 2019, 9:33pm The Lord of The Rings and The Harry Potter series are both really good. They are both pretty adventurous and they are both scary and a little bit funny. I don not recommend little kids reading it, because it will be too hard for them. For older kids, they will LOVE it! I am a big fan of the Harry Potter series!!!

Amazing!! submitted by Tejasvi Ramanathan on July 6, 2019, 11:22am This is one of my favorite Harry Potters' even though it is really sad. I have read the whole series many times, but I still laugh and cry while reading this book!

really sad submitted by samG on July 8, 2019, 7:32pm this book is not my favorite but its still one really sad story. I read the series multiple times and am still let down that the most powerful wizard died:(

Could've been better, but very good. submitted by Sinister_CottonCandy on July 13, 2019, 8:28am This was not my favorite in the series. That is because I thought that it was missing some action. Up until the end, it was a little boring. But that ending! Boy was that SAD. I won't spoil it though. Overall a great book.

Good book submitted by jasonc1177 on July 31, 2019, 7:45pm i read this and loved it

good book submitted by liqian on August 3, 2019, 4:07pm 6th in the series

Worth it submitted by sydcha on August 4, 2019, 1:51pm Though the start was very slow for me, I thought that the rest of the book was worth slogging through the first few chapters. The character development is stunning.

MINDBLOWN submitted by sbeegees on August 5, 2019, 4:07pm So many twists and turns. I especially loved the backstory revealed on Voldemort/Tom Riddle.

Good read submitted by MHZ on June 17, 2020, 5:17pm R.I.P. Dumbledore :(

Tears submitted by leah karr on August 22, 2022, 9:53am Bring the tissues! Tears at the end are real and raw

Long but good submitted by EJNelson on June 28, 2023, 11:39am There was some unnecessary content in the book, but I thought the ending was really good. The scene in the cave and Dumbledore’s death was really well written and sad in a good way.
Having read the 7th book, I love Snape’s character.

super good submitted by tarzan5411 on June 29, 2023, 11:13am Exciting to find out who the half-blood prince is!

Review submitted by polce on July 10, 2023, 6:50pm I didn't like the sad part at the end (don't want to spoil it). But it was still a really good book.

Great Book submitted by samina on July 29, 2023, 11:25am SUPER sad that Dumbledore died, but love that Harry’s suspicions of Malfoy all turn out true. The twists and turns of the plot kept me reading this book until the end. My second favorite book in the series after the last one!
