COMMUNITY REVIEWS

lousy cozy submitted by camelsamba on June 19, 2014, 1:10pm So many things about this book annoyed me (violations of procedure, patient privacy, common sense!). Not even the recipes can redeem it.

Great Series! submitted by Beatlesfan04 on June 15, 2018, 3:10pm I love the Hannah Swensen cozy mysteries. All of Joanne Fluke's books are fun, with well-developed characters and good recipes! They do have enough suspense and substance, even for a cozy. I enjoy reading each new book in the series. Yes, there are some things like violations of patient privacy, etc. that aren't as realistic in the book, as another reviewer mentioned, but it is a cozy mystery, most of them have crime solving cats, which I also love, but isn't realistic either. All of that is okay to me because they are still fun summer reads.

The Queen of Cozies Does it again! submitted by mickplu on July 13, 2019, 4:52pm Hannah Swenson solves another mystery while the entire town of Lake Eden, MN gets obese from her cooking. These recipes are also good!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder submitted by joanne on June 28, 2020, 10:40am Easy, summer read

Chocolate chip cookie murder submitted by rwlachman on August 15, 2022, 10:38am I love the Hannah Swenson mysteries. They are a fun summer read.

Enjoyable Series! submitted by Gr33nl3af on July 19, 2023, 2:34pm I really enjoy this series! The characters grow to be dear friends! Great series to read through every summer. Also appreciate the recipes.

Fun idea, stories get a bit formulaic submitted by ShelbyEJohnson on August 22, 2023, 2:58pm Since Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder is the first in the series, it is the most original. The premise of a baker owner solving murders in her small town is a fun one, but as the series progresses, I found the writing style to be repetitive and somewhat annoying. The more I listened, the more I disliked the main character. However, if you're just looking for a bit of fun, reading a couple of these would not be a waste of time.
