A reluctant leader, Arthur wishes only to leave Britain and return to the peace and stability of Rome. Before he can, one final mission leads him and his Knights of the Round Table - Lancelot, Galahad, Bors, Tristan, and Gawain - to the conclusion that when Rome is gone, Britain will need a leader to fill the void. Britain needs a king - someone not only to defend against the current threat of invading Saxons, but to lead the isle into the new age. Under the guidance of Merlin, and the beautiful Guinevere by his side, Arthur will have to find the strength to change the course of history.
DVD, region 1, widescreen (2.35:1) presentation; Dolby Digital 5.1 surround, THX-certified, including THX optimizer.

Cool submitted by Sonia on July 9, 2011, 2:11pm This movie has great twists and turns. The only thing that would improve it is the movie could be a bit shorter.

A different take submitted by crazypockets on July 13, 2013, 11:29am I didn't quite understand this movie...it was a different take on the Arthur legend that seemed to suggest Arthur was a Roman who came to the British Isles, but the way it went through the story didn't make a lot of sense.

reality trying to fit legend? submitted by aunal on November 13, 2014, 6:02pm I think the point of this movie was to imagine an actual history for Arthur and his Knights. I'm not quite sure it succeeded in doing that. Yes, historical details seem accurate, but in attempting that, much of the Arthurian legend that we all know and love is distorted. crazypockets, above, got some of the movie detail wrong; what is suggested is that Arthur is a Saxon, a warrior-for-hire who gets himself and his then few "knights" indentured to the Romans. Along the way, he fights the Saxons on behalf of the Romans, decides that the Romans are not acceptable employers, and meets Guinevere (played by Keira Knightly, not at all an accomplished actor, in my opinion). Action packed and enjoyable, presuming the viewer has no knowledge of the Arthurian legends, or the history of the times. A 5/10, at best.
