great submitted by steelersfan1 on June 30, 2011, 6:10pm great book

Great mystery series submitted by karenkay on July 14, 2011, 11:42am Dink, Josh and Ruth Rose are three friends who like to solve mysteries. These stories are generally well written, interesting to adults and not offensive. The friends joke around with each other but don’t use mean language or name calling. The titles of the books are often scarier than the stories themselves. There are occasional plots that involve children making poor decisions and putting themselves into dangerous situations. Ruth Rose is a positive female character. Enjoyed by my girls.

Great Book submitted by mysterio on July 12, 2012, 12:15pm A to Z Mysteries are the perfect bridge to the mystery genre for kids. Young readers who love Nate the Great and his adventures are ready for the many mysteries this terrific trio will solve. I remember reading this series as a kid and they were my favorite series ever along with the Magic Tree House series. Everyone in my class was so into these books, they wouldn’t let go of them. These books are full of mystery and inspire little kids to be detectives, be curious, and teach them to never let go of what you really want. Sometimes, I even find myself skimming through the books just for a nice, quick, twenty-minute read. I bought a few of the books when I was younger and now I’ve passed them on to my younger sister. She not only loves the series, but she is determined to read the entire series. I also heard Ron Roy, the brilliant author behind this extremely entertaining series, is finished with this series, sadly, but the success of the original series inspired a follow-up series, A to Z Mysteries Special Edition with the same characters. He is also writing another series, Calendar Mysteries, starring Dink’s, Josh’s, and Ruth’s younger brothers and cousins. I’m so glad that the author hasn’t stopped writing these fabulous books and is still motivated to keep writing. Each book is a simple chapter book with about eighty pages. I would recommend these books to anyone in grades 2 through 4.
