Presents a series of humorous impressions and incidents at a seaside Brittany resort involving the accident-prone Mr. Hulot. Principally visual humor. There is no story: simply a series of comic mix-ups and casual caricatures. Soundtrack is mostly ambient sound.

Lovely summer fare submitted by ellemef on July 14, 2014, 8:32am This is a classic and funny movie - don't be afraid of the French, there's virtually no dialog at all. It's a farcical look at the characters one meets on summer holidays, seen through the eyes of the bumbling M. Hulot. The humor is gentle and sweet, and it is a wonderful little bon bon of a film.

The French are nuts for Jerry Lewis, too. submitted by lisa on August 1, 2019, 1:16pm Somehow it doesn't so much tickle my fancy. I like me some silent films, even, and some slapstick. M. Hulot didn't do it for me.
