Sequel: The great hunt.
Read by Kate Reading and Micahel Kramer.
In the Second Age, the Dragon subdued the Dark One and his disciples in a mystical prison. The Third Age has begun and the Dragon is gone, but reborn in a boy who doesn't yet know his supreme calling. Time is precious, for the prison decays and the Dark One will soon work his evil. Only the boy can stop him. From his prison, the Dark One wills his warriors to destroy the boy's village. But Moiraine, a servant of the Dragon, comes with her Protector. They fight off the warriors and whisk the boy away. He's destined for Tar-Valon, the island city of the Aes Sedai, where he'll discover his power. Can the Dark One stop his journey?
Unabridged.

Not for the faint of heart submitted by mcshanelocked on June 24, 2014, 7:47pm Wonderful story for long car rides. Keeps you hooked and leaves you begging for more! Fortunately, there are 13 more books to read- or listen to! Stamina in this series is everything. But don't worry, it just keeps getting better!

First Book of the Wheel of Time submitted by gulickb on June 14, 2015, 3:35pm This is the first book of the Wheel of Time series read by Kate Reading and Michael Kramer. They do a great job bringing the story to life, having read the entire series multiple times and listened to this audiobook at least twice it is hard to seperate the book from the narration. They are both excellent.

Take the Plunge submitted by Judeyblu on August 31, 2015, 9:22pm My husband, my father, and me.
We all loved this series.
Take a deep breath and jump into it.
More knotted that GOT!

A great series submitted by ishhewitt on July 15, 2016, 11:09am This book begins a great tale. At times long winded, but worth the effort. A corner stone of epic fantasy.

Also, Kate and Michael are superb narrators.

Slow start to an epic story submitted by steveiew on June 22, 2018, 9:55pm You need to get past the first part of the book and I promise it is worth it! The story is excellent and the narration is well done.

Eye of the World submitted by SBNB on June 18, 2019, 3:43pm I liked this book for the most part. It’s better than George R.R. Martin’s dense slogs, but it doesn’t even come close to the artistry of Patrick Rothfuss’s Name of the Wind. Still a good read (or listen).
