The 80s! submitted by crazypockets on August 9, 2013, 2:19pm I think a lot of Star Trek fans think this movie is pretty hokey, and it is, but I get a big kick out of it. It's really fun to see the "future" people hanging out in the world of the 80s. This was when people started to get really concerned about environmental issues that today seem sort of dated, but are nonetheless important. It's sort of nice to have a reminder of that time. And certain scenes are just universally amusing like when McCoy winds up in a late 20th century hospital and is HORRIFIED.

Mind meld with a whale submitted by beeniepie on August 11, 2013, 1:33pm It's a little depressing that they chose to extend the movie series past the greatness of The Wrath of Khan. The best part of this film is seeing Spoke mind meld with a whale.
