Beautiful Writing or a Disaster in Progress?

By Maia Fenz-Mrozewska

This book was well-constructed, it had a very strong main idea, but I think that Ann M. Martin might have had a hard time creating a nice story behind that great main idea.

This book is set in a time period of struggle and opportunities, of popular mean girls, handsome teachers, and mothers who are just looking for a chance to get on broadway. Strangely, it sounds very much like our life today. (Except most of the popular mean girls are in high school, all the handsome teachers are always married, and mothers aren't looking for chances to get on broadway, but a chance to get a good job as a lawyer, or doctor.

As I read more and more in the book I became more and more interested, I cried at certain parts, I laughed, and sometimes I even felt like I was Eleanor, seeing this hard life through my own eyes.

I recommend this book to anyone who likes drama, and humor.
