In 1803, after being exposed as a girl and forced to leave her ship, Jacky Faber finds herself attending school in Boston, where, instead of learning to be a lady, she battles her snobbish classmates, roams the city in search of adventure, and learns to ride a horse.

COMMUNITY REVIEWS

disappointing submitted by Cherrytreelane on August 11, 2011, 12:48am This series starts out quirky and fun but follows a downward spiral. Lots of destructive behavior is presented with few realistic consequences, especially as you get further along in this series. I was bummed to have wasted as much time reading this one as I did, there are lots of better options out there.

disappointing submitted by betsywil on July 8, 2012, 12:07pm I agree with the previous review. While the book does have a few fun moments of adventure, they are not realistic, the villain is cartoonish, and much of the history is wrong.

Read a better series instead.
