COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Fast paced burlesque comedy submitted by Kimberlyrol on July 18, 2014, 7:30am From Thames Television (the same that brought us Monty Python), Benny Hill is known for his fast paced comedy, visual gags, slapstick and burlesque. This video is a series of sort skits that were featured on his weekly tv show. Benny plays many roles of people in humorous circumstances including a little boy, a housewife, a Russian newlywed, with such tongue in cheek accuracy, including silly facial expressions, that it is difficult not to laugh. The show is not without controversy. It has received criticism for being sexist with its scantily clad female players. Benny Hill countered by saying, he does not chase the women in these skits, but rather is the one being chased. Regardless, Benny Hill had many fans, including Charlie Chaplin who collected all of Hill's shows on video tape. His series ended in 1990.
