Way Better Than Its Fictional Complement submitted by Meginator on August 27, 2022, 7:18pm This companion book to the Magic Tree House series is by far more interesting and more informative than the corresponding fictional adventure, offering historical context for some of the specific events that Jack and Annie witness during their adventure and providing a broader outline of social structures in Europe during the Medieval period. I was impressed by the book’s scope, which goes slightly beyond castle life and includes a surprising amount of depth; as an adult, I even learned some things about the development and structure of castles. This is not only far more engaging than the companion adventure, it works well as a standalone for young readers interested in this period of history.
