Great Movie full of trolls, romance, and adventure!
You have to see this movie! (Also read the book!).

wonderful submitted by ColeenT on July 15, 2011, 12:20pm great movie
Terrible submitted by Motomori on July 1, 2012, 5:14pm I thought this movie was really dumb. The book is way better.
horrible and cheesy
submitted by jszchen on July 24, 2012, 9:11pm
According to my husband, I like cheesy movies, but this was over the top. Also not appropriate for 8 and under because of all the french kissing. The acting was not bad, but the breaking out in singing was over the top.
My daughter said the book was much better
Great! submitted by alumeng.ajl on July 29, 2012, 8:56am This is a good movie! The book is much better, though.
funny submitted by 04foremanh on July 29, 2012, 7:51pm great movie

Awful, terrible, no good, very bad. submitted by romanticmind on July 11, 2015, 12:20pm This was a terrible adaptation of one of my very favorite books. I met the author (Gail Carson Levine) once, and asked her why she let them make such a terrible rendition. She paused and replied, "It was going to be worse."
Lovely for kids submitted by pvogiatz on August 22, 2015, 10:51am It's not that bad for adults and is very nice for kids.
Terrible submitted by lbootzin on August 26, 2015, 9:48pm They destroyed one of my favorite books :(
When You Need a Good Laugh
submitted by gem on July 11, 2018, 1:09pm
When you need a good laugh, you can check out this movie and have laughs. Great premise: automated obedience and its consequences for the one compelled to obey.
What would you do if you were Ella? Wouldn't you try to break free also?
Ella Enchanted submitted by Varshini on July 3, 2019, 8:07pm I liked this movie as a young girl. It's good for small children. Don't watch it if you're older than 8 though.
Doesn't follow the story of the book. submitted by eliadler on August 19, 2020, 6:42pm This is a cute movie with a good cast, but it didn't follow the story of the book, which I found disappointing.
Read the book instead!!! submitted by amandasaurus on June 19, 2022, 11:54pm This is a sad representation of the book. It’s fine as it’s own movie, but doesn’t carry the same themes or honestly even plot as the book (which is LOADS better).
Vastly different submitted by mssthoma on June 27, 2022, 11:52pm The book is much more serious than the movie. The movie is a fun light hearted romp. The book, at least the first half, is more of a tragic comedy that doesn’t shy away from big feelings, particularly sad and lonely ones. The movie is a nice piece of entertainment on its own though. Definitely recommend, but it’s nothing to rave about
