COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Spoiler alert submitted by willow on August 31, 2015, 7:24am Anthony Hopkins plays a black man "passing" as Jewish.

Yes, it is 100% ridiculous. The movie starts well but soon becomes a worthless turkey. submitted by Tassos on January 31, 2019, 9:47am Too bad that a GREAT Actor like Hopkins had to degrade himself playing in this idiotic movie, which starts well but soon desintegrates into garbage. In addition, Hopkins looks NOTHING like the mixed race actor who plays Hopkins at a younger age.

It could have used some editing but... submitted by ccrose on August 31, 2019, 9:37am It’s an intriguing pair up. Anthony Hopkins still makes me cringe a little so he had to earn my commitment. The turn is around people who have difficult lives, very difficult pasts and secrets that don’t pay off. First Kidman and Hopkins become unlikely lovers. Great line: Hopkins: so how do you like making love with an old man? Kidman: it’s perfect!
It’s pain that drives the two together and a big toxic dose of shame.
I think it was a hard movie to end. The two have struggled to not fall in love. That part is believable but the device to creat an ending is like an afterthought.
