Dated writing style and story submitted by Marian on August 17, 2023, 8:55pm I wasn't sure I could finish the book, mainly because of the antiquated writing style, but also because of the forms of the beings (many limbs, facial features, green and red colors), and barbarism contrasted with architectural and ornamental remnants of a long-past society. It might have been sensational when first published in 1912, but it feels "thin" in 2023. I did finish it, but ... .
