COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Unravels submitted by markwells on June 24, 2019, 3:29pm Harrison Ford is a man on the edge and as his world unravels by his own deeds he threatens to take his family down with him. It's a different role for that man we knew as Han or Doctor Jones. He's not that likeable here but the story is not bad and the movie is worth a look. Grade: B.

Mosquito Coast submitted by yufamily on June 24, 2023, 11:47am Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford from 1986. That’s 37 years ago! A nice rewatch.

The Mosquito Coast submitted by leighsprauer on February 29, 2024, 7:47pm I didn't have high hopes for this movie, despite its all-star cast, but I really enjoyed it. Harrison Ford plays Allie Fox, an eccentric inventor who is fed up with America's moral decay and softness. He moves his young family to the Mosquito Coast in Central America, with dual goals: to bring civilization (in the form of refrigeration) to the locals, and to live as pioneers. He's brilliant, but arrogant, and that proves to be his downfall.
Harrison Ford is fantastic; you would expect that if he's in a jungle or rescuing people, he'd be Indiana or Han. But he's not. He has all the ego, but none of the charm of his other characters. You really forget it's him. River Phoenix is also wonderful.
Maybe not the best movie I've ever seen, but worth the watch.
