Thelma is an abused and neglected wife, while her friend Louise is a bitter, hard-edged waitress. The two decide to take a brief vacation to escape the drudgery of their everyday lives. Seems like I know these women submitted by ccrose on August 30, 2019, 8:03am It would have been easy for the director to have pushed their characters toward stereotype, go for go for something closer to Lucy and Ethel. But the believability factor is high the way it is. It’s the true friendship that anchors it, the disclosures each makes about her life that sets up the stakes and the ending too. Good job, writers!

Great characters submitted by chowcy on July 28, 2020, 9:15am A little stressful to watch at times as bad things keep happening, but there are many sweet moments to make up for it! The characters are so well-developed and different, you really do care about them.

a classic that holds up! submitted by AGAPHD on August 21, 2023, 6:40pm i love this movie. a feminist twist on a western that follows it's main characters on a live-changing road trip. the cast is great and the ending is iconic.
