This Was the Best They Could Do? submitted by scarlettsquill on June 16, 2020, 3:52pm I dread when my daughter asks me to read this to her. Half of the book is biscuit woofing. A painfully boring tale of a misbehaving puppy. (Normally I love kid's books! But, this is just terrible! haha)
Prizes submitted by avrogers1 on July 17, 2020, 3:12pm This is a super cute kids series that's great for found readers, with lots old really cute illustrations. In this story yoy can follow biscuit when he wins a prize.

Biscuit books can be rough. There's often very little plot to speak of, this one in particular is quite dull. On top of the boring tale, this pup feels the need to respond to every little thing with a redundant "Woof, woof!" We get it Alyssa Capucilli, Biscuit is a vocal dog that finds most things exciting, but you gotta throw some "bow-wows" or "ruffs" in there homie! Mix it up, girlfriend, don't box that pup in to just a single dog noise!
Anyway, my kid loves Biscuit, so I have some experience with the series. If you too are being forced to read these books by a toddler, do yourself a favor and go with "Biscuit Goes Camping." It at least has a twist at the end that will keep you guessing, not like this one-dimensional slog. The only thing that made me give this thing two stars instead of one, was the happy ending. SPOILER ALERT: Biscuit does indeed win a prize, just not from this reader.
If you can, steer clear of Biscuit books altogether. The "I Can Read" series also has Little Critter titles that are much more enjoyable. Love that little guy!
