Realism for kiddies submitted by ssands on July 2, 2015, 3:55pm Apparently children draw stick figures as a kind of symbolism, but can also draw realistically by looking closely at the shapes that objects make (as adults who draw realistically also do). I guess the real question that would determine if this method works for a child is whether that particular child values realistic drawing. My kid was too young to care, and seems to be put off by me making any kind of suggestions at all about art.
