COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Not your usual Cinderella submitted by cherylo on July 25, 2011, 9:28am A fun and sweet alternate Cinderella. The stepsisters in particular are a treat. Don't ask why Leonardo DaVinci is part of the story, just enjoy it.

fairytale submitted by jszchen on August 17, 2011, 10:56pm Still a fairytale

Ever After submitted by SBNB on July 10, 2012, 11:26am Great movie, cute story, fun to watch.

Better for teens submitted by crazypockets on July 15, 2013, 4:44pm I used to like this movie as a teenager, but I watched it recently, and it was just so bad. Drew Barrymore's accent is awful. Why does she have an English accent if she's supposed to be in France? And she can barely do the English one at that. The best part of this movie was Richard O'Brien being delightfully creepy.

Interesting Twist submitted by kathscot on June 22, 2014, 7:53pm Always fun to read or see alternative tellings of fairy tales. This one has more believable interactions between Danielle (Cinderella), her step-mother and step-sisters.

Lovely enchanting film submitted by Duette on August 31, 2016, 9:41pm It's a great adaption of the classic and a beautiful twist. Worthy of being viewed again and again

chick flick submitted by FordAlpha on August 26, 2017, 9:14pm "Ever After" is an enjoyable enough chick flick. The Leonardo daVinci bit is weird and unnecessary. I do like the telling of our heroine's childhood and her relationship with her father and stepfamily.

Classic submitted by zmclaugh on July 12, 2018, 6:56pm A fun retelling of Cinderella.

Favorite submitted by kbahleda on August 10, 2018, 8:25am This is my favorite movie of all time!

Can quote lines submitted by edb.blanchard on July 14, 2019, 8:35pm Hadn't watched this in many years, but could still quote almost all of the lines...so many! so good!

A Good Watch for Cinderella Fans submitted by ChallngOfTheStrs on July 19, 2019, 1:19pm If you enjoy the story of Cinderella, you'll likely enjoy this movie. It provides some good character development and excellent acting on the part of Anjelica Huston, I believe. If you ignore some of the issues with historical/geographical accuracy, it's not too bad. It provides a little bit more realistic take on the Cinderella story, such as removing the magical element of a fairy godmother. The plot moves along nicely and keeps the viewer interested.

Enjoyable despite its limits submitted by MMCochran on July 28, 2020, 11:13pm I love this movie. It is flawed in historical representation, portrayal of class mobility, accents, as has been noted in other reviews, but it's just so much fun to watch, that none of that detracts from the overall experience. It's the cinematic twinkie -- not at all high quality or enriching, but sometimes just what you want.

Best submitted by amd12 on August 30, 2020, 12:50am Love to watch this movie. It’s more fun than the usual story
